Event Type: Study Tour and Service Program (4th-year Medical Students)
Event Title: Study Tour and Service Program in International Health and Medical Spanish
Event Description: The program introduces participants to key principles in practice of medicine and health provision beyond North America, and develops a framework for current and future individual clinic and other health care experiences. The course location in Ecuador allows opportunties for interaction and practical health work with local practitioners who serve at-risk populations in a variety of natural environments. Supplementary seminars bridge ideas and potential applications for domestic health care, in addition to work in various contexts overseas. Immersion language training and patient interviewing, examination and diagnosing in Spanish are as well of considerable clinical utility at home.
