The Global Health Education Consortium (GHEC) will hold its 17th annual GHEC Conference in Sacramento, California at the Sacramento City Convention Center, on April 3 - 5, 2008.

GHEC invites abstracts for the 20087 poster session on any global health service, research, education, or policy topic. Descriptions of short and long term projects, field site development, etc., are also welcome. Abstracts need not be related to the conference theme.

Preference is given to work done in underdeveloped countries and underserved areas globally. Posters will be selected through a competitive process. Funding from GHEC for travel and registration is not available for this meeting. We urge participants with accepted posters to contact sources at their respective schools for funding and/or fund raising ideas.

  • STUDENTS: Your role in the project should be well defined and clear and a faculty member must review your project. Please ensure that the abstract has been prepared as per the suggested guidelines. (See Guidelines for Making a Good Poster, Poster Size Information).

  • RESIDENTS AND FACULTY: In addition to other topics, we encourage you to submit abstracts for posters describing international programs and field elective sites.

Criteria for selection: All submissions will be evaluated by the abstract committee by the following criteria: originality; organization; quality and clarity; methods and materials used; and importance of the project in regards to the problem addressed and relevance to global health issues.

Deadline and submission format.  Submit your abstract by completing the >Online Form. Abstracts must be submitted by October 5, 2007 **Deadline Extended to October 14, 2007 - 12pm EDT ** . GHEC will notify you by e-mail of your abstract's acceptance status no later than December 20, 2007.
